It wasn’t until the 1990s that the estate started to raise back to its former glories, under the ownership of the Wertheimer brothers. The entire estate was overhauled, with smaller vats brought in to replace the winery tanks, allowing more precise vinification of grapes according to their vineyard parcel. nThe estate’s 52 hectares of vines are made up of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Cab Franc, planted on mostly gravelly-clay soils. nOffering a cassis-and-chocolate bouquet over notes of dried flowers and wild fennel, Château Rauzan-Ségla 2014 is a complex, full-bodied Bordeaux with excellent potential.
