With a 28 mm diameter entrance, only little tenants can get in, keeping larger, pushier birds and predators out. It may be designed for small birds, but there's still plenty of space inside for hatchlings to grow. We've chosen not to integrate a perch - they look lovely, but allow bigger animals to get close to the entrance, and lots of space has been left underneath the hole to ensure that predators can't reach down into the house. The wood is thick and safe to help insulate nests in winter, but you can still get into the birdhouse when you need to through the removable front panel. Simply pop it off whenever you need to clean the inside, or to take a look to see how they are doing.
