We could wax lyrical about these excellent terry lined J. Alex Swift Wool Rich All Terry Fleck Everyday Socks all day, with their flat, comfortable toe seams and chunky cushioned feel, but let’s hear from the ‘horse’s mouth’, J. Alex Swift director Neil Michael Swift: “The sock was developed during the 1980’s as a Cricket sock. Our customer was himself a professional cricketer and supplied the Pakistani cricket team. As a keen cricketer myself it was obvious to try out the newly developed sock for myself. I found the sock just had the right amount of cushioning and softness to give perfect comfort without overheating when you are on your feet all afternoon during a cricket match. These characteristics of comfort, cushioning and durability are of course relevant to many more wearing occasions – not just cricket. I found myself wearing the socks for walking, fishing, gardening and most leisure or weekend activities. I then found that providing shoes are not tight fitting dress shoes, they are ideal for wearing at work when you know it will be many hours before you are able to take your shoes off and relax. Over the years it is not just myself who has become addicted to this style, my cousin who works all day in the knitting room and my warehouse manager are invariably seen wearing this style most days. Over the years many of my cricketing colleagues, as well as builders and workmen visit our factory to buy this style. I have also given pairs to many people over the years and to date I have never received any negative feedback. As a sock manufacturer I have the choice of wearing any of the hundreds of styles of socks available in the factory. Although I road test many I always return to my Grey Fleck all terry socks.
