The Douglas clan motto is "Jamais arrière" meaning "Never behind" – and you certainly won’t be if you wear this fine Scottish 100% Lambswool crew neck, produced in the historic town of Hawick, Scotland by skilled traditional craftspeople. This dark green and blue tartan, said to be derived from the Gaelic "dubh glais" meaning "dark water", celebrates one of Hawick’s traditional clans, present through Scottish history – a Sir William Douglas fought alongside William Wallace – while a later Sir William Douglas of Hawick was at the Battle of Langside and at Carberry Hill. History aside, an added benefit of the Clan Douglas tartan that it’s also a very handsome, masculine pattern and colour range, with the sett showing a blue ‘glow’ around the navy elements and a white geometric overlay. The jumper itself is well proportioned and stylish while keeping you delightfully warm too. This Lambswool jumper is derived solely from UK flocks and is Total Easy Care, so it can be simply machine washed and tumble dried.
