Martin planted his first vines in 1983, and had added another 22 acres by 1991, convinced that his farm was suited to growing quality grapes. Today, with over 30 acres of vines, Halfpenny Green is run by Martin with his winemaking son Clive. The Schönburger grapes for this wine are from 25 year old vines growing on well-sheltered south-facing slopes in the Severn Valley.
