In the rich Tudor saga of chronographs, the Tudor Monte Carlo is an absolute icon. Launched in 1973 and produced for only a few years, this rare historic timepiece is prized by collectors. The most distinctive model featured touches of blue, grey and orange, and was imbued with the spirit of chic, sophisticated holiday destinations of the 1960's and 1970's. It is this legendary chronograph that has inspired the Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue, reminiscent of carefree Mediterranean warmth and glamour. Inspired by history, but not completely redesigned, the dial has three-dimensional hour markers with two bevelled metallic edges defining an area filled with SuperLuminova for a stronger image and optimal legibility. It also features two counters located inside two blue trapezoidal shapes, one at 3 o'clock for the small seconds hand, and one at 9 o'clock for the 45-minute counter, as well as a date window which is located at 6 o'clock.Waterproof to a depth of 150m, the 42mm steel case has a bidirectional bezel with a 12-hour graduated blue anodized aluminium insert for second time-zone display. Under its scratch resistant sapphire crystal, it houses a self-winding mechanical chronograph Tudor calibre 2892 movement with a 42-hour power reserve. The distinctive crown and pushers are knurled with a chrome finish, whilst the crown is also adorned with a blue lacquered shield. Providing an added touch of refinement, the Heritage Chrono Blue comes with two bracelets, one in steel with a folding clasp, the other in reinforced fabric with a buckle. The fabric strap echoes the characteristic colours of the dial and provides exceptional wearing comfort. At a time when blue is the new black, the chromatic harmonies of blue, grey and orange suggest an undisputed modernity. Like all the watches in the Heritage line, the Heritage Chrono Blue is a unique reinterpretation in which past, present and future converge in both time and style.
